Taking Holidays : Requests for time out of school
Family holidays should whenever possible be taken during the holiday periods listed in the published calendar. However if, in exceptional circumstances, it is felt necessary to take pupils out of school in term time, then a request must be made to the school by submitting a completed 'Request for leave of absence' form. The form is available from school or can be downloaded by clicking here. This form, once completed, should be returned to school for consideration by the head-teacher. If the request is approved then the pupil will be recorded as absent (i.e. it does affect their attendance record), but that this will be deemed to be an authorised absence.
If this procedure is not followed, or the request for absence is not approved, then a pupil’s absence will be classed as unauthorised and entered on the official register accordingly.
Education Leeds policy states that more than 5 days unauthorised absences in any one term may result in the issuing of a Fixed Penalty Notice.


Key Stage 2 SATS test week
Key Stage 2 SATS tests for year 6 pupils will take place during the week of 9th - 13th May 2011. Full attendance is important, and it would be appreciated if holidays, dental appointments etc. were not arranged for our year 6 pupils during this period. We will not be able to authorise any absence for holidays etc during this time.
