Gallery : KS 2 - Rendezvous with David

Tuesday, October 13th, Ms Morrisroe and a group of Key
Stage 2 children went into Leeds on the train to the
City Art Gallery. They had been invited to a special
event as part of the National Children’s Book Week
celebrations.
At the Art Gallery they met David Roberts, the illustrator and author of the ‘Dirty Bertie’ series of books. He told them about how he got his ideas for the stories and asked for more suggestions of disgusting things Bertie could do next! He also showed how he created the illustrations and encouraged the audience to draw along with him. At the end he gave everyone a signed postcard and even autographed a drawing for Kelsey! It was a great experience and everyone enjoyed themselves very much.
